so how ya been?

This is just a general post written because I am hella bored.

"What up?"
"How ya been?"

The two lines above are my usual introduction whenever I chat with friends online. "What up" is a greeting equivalent to the usual hi, hello, good morning/evening, while "How ya been" is a form of remark to elicit a response that establishes a conversation.

I've been away for almost a year now and chatting certainly is a good avenue for me to get updated on happenings back in the PI. It's the bridge that connects me to my friends making it seem that we are not too far from each other.

I like chatting more than talking because you get to think about what you say and see your response before sending it to the other person. You also get to browse back on previously written remarks that it quite helpful specially when you have A.D.D. and jump from one topic to the next in a matter on minutes.

I miss the nights when a bunch of friends and I would have conference group chat and just talk about random stuff. I miss chatting online with fellow castmates/classmates as soon as we get home from rehearsals/school and talk about the events of the day. I miss having group conversations with people I haven't seen or heard from in hella long then once you start chatting it seems as if you guys never lost communications. I miss talking to buddies about issues ranging from current crushes to frustrations about life to even politics and philosophy.

The past year it seemed as if there hasn't been much activity for me in the chatting arena. I dunno what happened but I don't see the people I used to chat with online. I guess everyone is just busy with their activities. But wouldn't it be awesome if we could just have like an hour or two one day where we can all do a conference group chat and just talk and be silly and just update one another with what's been going on with our lives?

I miss my friends back home. Someone chat with me and answer my simple question..."so, how ya been?"

What I do for Joseph....

I have been blessed. For the second straight year I'll be part of Trumpets.  Yes I passed the auditions and got into to JTD. I never really expected it bec  the cast is rather small and the comment during my audition is that I lack the experience. But thank God for a good friend who vouched for me which convinced the director to give me a second chance. I actually messed up the song that they asked me to learn, but  I guess they still accepted me bec I tried my best and they saw my effort there. Yay!

Anyway, reheasals haven't officially started yet but somehow I feel so tired  and my arms, back, and legs are sore
already. You guys wanna know why? Well it's because we are required to have workshops to prepare us for JTD. For me I'm required to attend 3 --> basic workshops w/ Sir Freddie (T-Th), basic HipHop with Alfred (who was our choreographer in BlueREP's the WIZ, MWF) and gymnastics with Coach John (MWF)

The basic workshop started last week and so far it has been enlightening. He just taught us so many simple things that we tend to like forget but is really important and really makes a lot of sense!! I super enjoyed it.

The dance class started last monday and it has been so fun. I'm easily the worse dance in the room but it ain't stopping me from trying or at least enjoy every moment. So far I've learned about texture, lock and pop. We're still in the assessment phase so no difficult routines yet. It'll just get more complicated as each session pass by. We will actually have a recital after this for the kids in the orphanage or something. I forgot. Anyway also thanks to this I've been LSS-ing to Alicia Keys' Diary!! hehe

We had our first gymnastic session yesterday, right after the dance class. There was actually only five of us there - Geoge, Felix, Johann, JunVee and me. We were expecting like something easy and really basic - but no we had to work hard. We started off with handstands, follwed by proper cartwheel, then after a while we did back dives to a foam bed, then after we did back flips (where we landed in a pool of foam!) then more cartwheel and more backflips, then 3 different rolls or whatever u call it, then that butterfly thingymagig, then a good stretch in the end. Yes for three hours we did flips and turns and rolls and all those "basic" things. One hecka of a workout! It was so funny at the beginning of the session bec we were so intimidated by 6 year old girls who were like tumbling and flipping as if there aint gravity. Hahaha. My body is sorta sore but I had tremendous fun. I cant wait for the next session.

Anyway so these are the things I'm doing for Joseph. It's tiring but it's tons of fun. I really enjoy being in class with my friends - old (from mermaid) and new (actually not that new coz i've known them na for quite some time na rin)!! It's just been a good week. I can't wait for the actualy rehearsals to begin - i'm excited for the choreography (bec a friend might be doing it) and excited to learn the songs! But for now i'm gonna have to concentrate first on the workshops and hopefully by then end I'll be good enough in all three to be a convincing brother.

re-visiting Charity

Watching Stages of Love made me miss performing so much. That's why I started watching my old plays that I have on video. Unfortunately I only have a vid of two them. But no matter how many times I've seen them before I can still re-live the moment we were on stage performing our hearts out :D

Here are a couple of the vids from the last play I did, Sweet Charity:

"Sweet Chartiy"

"I'm the Bravest Individual"

"Big Spender"

"There's Gotta Be Something better Than This"

"The Rhythm of Life"

"I Love to Cry at Weddings"

Stages of Love

BlueREP has done it again! Another hit show! It was just a fantabulous experience to be in that intimate theater watching my friends sing about the different stages of love. They all worked well and produced a really awesome revue.

Congrats of course to andrei (for his brilliant direction), to Laura (for her musical direction) to the cast and crew (i won't mention all of u..basta alam nyo na kung sino kayo) and of course to Rony for writing the most awesome opening I've heard in a while. It's really super catchy and pleasant!!

Speaking of which, here's the vid of the opening (rony is it all right if I post it?? tnx). Enjoy!!!!
